Parenting My Son With A Straight-Face

Welcome to Grant's World! This blog will strive to describe the daily antics of our now 4 year old son, Grant.

Grant is off to his *school* today at a local Mother's Day Out program. He loves his teachers, Ms Wendy and Ms. JoAnn. they are so patient and loving wih him...most of all, they're FUN! His best friend, Brock, just started today so they will be together 2 days/week now.

Grant had a sugar incident yesterday. We relented at the grocery store and bought him a push-up lollipop. Big mistake. Our adorable little toddler was soon replaced by a knee-high terrorist who had a list of demands a mile long. One false move and he would attempt to take our heads off with a flying sippy cup. Joel and I quickly raised the Terror Alert to Level Orange and regrouped. Rather than try to calm him down and encourage quiet games and books, we implemented "Operation: Run His Ass Into The Ground." We kept him on the go all day with trips to the store, "Home Depot Blue" (as Grant calls Lowes...I'm sure the Lowe's marketing folks are cringing), Hollywood Video, and a few other places that are still a blur to me. After a wonderful dinner at Nanny & Papa's house that evening, the little terrorist was overthrown and our little angel was safely back home where he belonged...passed out on the couch at 8pm. Joel and I are still exhausted and have given the push-up lollipop a proper burial in the back yard.
