Hand Foot & Mouth. Three words that will put me into the fetal position when it comes to watching my child suffer with a virus that is just pure torture. Thinking G had the flu, I took him to the Dr. on Monday. He was tested for strep and flu, but Dr. Patil came back in and said "Good news! It's negative for those tests but I think he's in the beginning stage of Hand Foot and Mouth." This is good news? Good news would have been allergies or the sniffles. We've been down this road before a year and a half ago. Mouth sores all in his mouth, tongue and throat...can't eat, can't drink, can't talk...can barely scream. Mostly he just whimpers and looks at me with his big blue eyes just pleading for me to do something to stop the pain. Good news....my ass! I guess I just need a little perspective. It's good news compared to when he split his head open in the back yard and needed 10 stitches. Good news compared to when he wasn't getting oxygen and had to be rushed from the pediatrician's to Childrens hospital in an ambulance. I guess HF&M is better than those options...see what a little healthy dose of perspective gets ya?

Hey look dirty dishes in my sink. Good news....
